1. whats mcmmo?

its a plugin that adds an extra layer to the minecraft game. it provides longterm rewards for activities such as mining or fighting mobs with a bow.
its explained in depth in game by using the cmd /mcmmo
the different commands that are built into mcmmo are given by typing /mcc
examples are
/stats - lists your stats
/(skillname) - (ex. /archery) lists the benefits and perks of a certain skill

2. what are parties and how do you make them?

parties is a part of mcmmo.
you may create a party and then invite other players to join that party
it has no particular point in SMP, but is very important in PvP where secrecy is key
to create a party use
/party (partyname)
to invite a player to a party use:
/invite (playername)
to toggle (turn on/off) party chat use:
/p

3. there seem to be lots of plugins, are there others i dont know about?

yes

4. ...what are they?

no

5. how can i figure out what they are then?

hidden in the worlds are blueprints for the various plugins
ie. a model of what the plugin does that you need to study to figure out how it works
after that its up to you whether or not you share the knowledge or keep it for yourself
i only ask that you dont destroy/hide the blueprint after finding it

an example of this is the bridge plugin found by kog on the pvp world
he decided to share it

as is there are very few blueprints available in the wild atm
i decided that it would be much more interesting to scatter them throughout the nether (when its good to go (hopefully soon))

also, some blueprints will only be given through winning contests, but more on that later

6. doors and redstone seems to be reacting really slooooooowly, is this a usual thing?

no, this occurs when the server has been "up" for too long without any sort of restart. if you mention this to cdkid or me, we'll take care of it asap.

it'll probably take a day though, don't pester us about it till then.

7. can i grief (you'd be surprised how much i get asked this)?

no

8. can i have mod?

no.
it'll just b me and cd till the server goes super public for his college. at that point mod will probably be given to current world bosses

9. what's a world boss?

its someone who has made/done something epic for a particular world
ex. on SMP kog kept world boss because he made a biosphere in thin air
for someone to take his boss status, they'd have to make something cooler than that
(i would have given it to venom for the gauntlet, but kog helped out a fair bit for that as well)

10. i wanna make something awesome, what should i do?

you can make anything (pg-13) that you want
just not another goddamn rectangular sky scraper

think more interesting
build atlantis or a star ship or a giant ass pirate ship
build a dungeon or a labyrinth or a combination of the two
just don't make any more rectangular towers with nothing inside

11. how does redstone work?



if you are having trouble with something advanced, feel free to ask for help
kog and cdkid probably have the most experience with weird wirings, but most people will be able to lend a hand

12. can we get (plugin name)?

maybe
ask nicely and i'll consider

ask first
if you've been around a little while then the answer will almost definitely be yes
we won't feel bad about banning your friend if he's a dick though

15. can i use pathax tm?

only if batman says its ok

like not by growing it tho, by chopping down other trees and molding them into one fucking massive tree
we could probably just do the outside out of actual logs and do the inside out of planks

but we should also excavate a fairly big rectangle down to bedrock to put it in

Either kog or backseat asked me about what I was building and I said word for word.

"I'm building a giant tree, mainly because no one has build anything out of pure wood"

half way into the project I also found out you can burn wood with flint and steel.

This morning I found a sign on my wall, someone had burnt down my entire building and rebuilt it lol...

None the less, still my idea. You and kog are welcome to help me though.

Im glad your cool with that cause that was me
But i blame olo for not stopping me
It was too tempting to light on fire, a giant pure wooden square

I didnt mean to burn it down though, i lit fire to it 3 times, and i had a bucket of water to put it out
Once was on the path leading up to it, and the fire only spread to 3 or 4 blocks before putting itself out, so i thought the server had some sort of plugin that kept fire from going out of control
So to test that theory i went to the top of the wood tower and lit fire up there, and it spread to 2 areas, 1 area put itself out and i put the other one out with water, but all total it only destroyed maybe 8 or 9 blocks (i replaced all the blocks of course)

So the last time i did it was on the ground next to the sign, and in seconds the whole front of it was on fire and i could get water up high enough to put it out before it spread to the right side and eventually consumed the whole thing
While it was on fire i climbed the ladder on the inside, being burned while doing it, to get to the top to try to dump water on it from up there to save it, but i only had 1 bucket and it wasnt enough
Eventually i was on fire, took too much damage, and had to jump from the top into the ocean


Originally i wasnt going to fix it, and told olo that the story was that it got hit by lightning and burned down and that olo and me heroically tried to save it with buckets of water but werent able to
But i had just made an area for trees and getting wood was easy so i used the wood from that to rebuild it the best i could
The whole thing wasnt destroyed, about half was destroyed in random areas all the way up, leaving chunks of it behind so rebuilding it wasnt that hard
I left the sign because i couldnt remember how many torches there were, or what your sign said on the outside, and figured youd notice something so i left that sign and about 60 torches for you to put up

i like the story of you and olo heroically trying to save it from lightning better pat, shoulda stuck to it



and amaz yours is made out of planks, real men make their fake trees out of wood

and the lightning story wouldnt have held up
yesterday me and cd tested it (coincidentally) by getting a mod that let use call lightning where we were
some people probably heard it, we musta called thousands of lightning

and after all that lightning, it didnt burn down a single tree or leaf in a huge forest

speaking of pats tree farm, cd owes you some materials. The farm may or may not have been burned to the ground.

Yeah, he left a sign, i think he burned it down because he read the logs where i burned down amaz's thing
But i never said i fixed amazs thing in the server logs so he didnt know i rebuilt it


Also someone flattened the tops of the trees in that tree farm, i was going to harvest all of it, but left it

And backseat, you can harvest from there, just make sure to replant the sapplings in the same spaces as the trees are so that they are always the same space apart
And leave/take extra sapplings in the chest thats there (you can use any axes thats in there to, just leave at least 1 left)
Never put anything except sapplings and axes in that chest though
