Steam has begun its winter sale:
http://store.steampowered.com/Heres a helpful flow chart to help you spend less money
Here are the deals that i think are the best, ill update them once a day as new daily deals come up
Dates in yellow are deals that you can still get
If a game isnt listed here i either dont think its worth the price or didnt like the game
The sale ends on January 2nd
Dec 18thState of Decay ($5):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/241540/This is a really well done single player zombie survival game well worth $5 if you like that sort of thing
Dark Souls 2 ($15):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/236430/This is an unforgivingly difficult RPG with a pretty good story thats fun to play, you should play the first 1 first though
There will be a kind of GOTY edition coming out in a few months or so, and since this is $15 (which is kindve high for steam sales) you might want to hold off on buying it
Of course the GOTY edition wont be $15 so while i think its worth the $15 you should keep that in mind before buying it
Dec 19thBatman Arkham Origins ($5):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/209000/This is the best batman game so far, the detective mode bits are great, the combat is great, the story is great, and at $5 id say its a must buy
For an extra $5 you can get all the DLC, but really the only DLC you want is Cold Cold Heart ($2.50), the others are crap, the initiation dlc kindve sucks and the rest is just cosmetics or cheaty items
Killing Floor ($5):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/1250/This is a 6 player co-op zombie killing simulator, its pretty fun but nothing special, its worth $5 though
Castle Crashers ($1.50):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/204360/This is a 4 player co-op sidescrolling beat-em-up, really fun and basically free at $1.50 its well worth the purchase
It kindve needs friend to play with though
Dec 20thPrison Architect ($6):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/233450/I havent played this since alpha 10 or 11 (its at alpha 28 now) and i havent been keeping up with its developement so i dont know how much theyve channged since i played, but i have to assume that it got better over time and when i played it was already pretty good
Its a business management game where the goal is to make a huge successful prison, the inmates act like you would expect prisoners to act, they will shank eachother and try to hide weapons, sometimes they even attack the staff, but once you figure it out its easy to get them to behave (at least it was in alpha 11)
Once you make 1 really good prison youll probably stop playing like i did (i plan to play again once its not in early access), after that first good prison theres not much reason to play again (though getting that good prison might take a few tries)
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter ($12):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/258520/See the post about it here:
https://tmmm.forumotion.com/t1466-the-vanishing-of-ethan-carterThe short version is its a really enjoyable story driven first person logic game with some great moments that i wish was longer
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth ($10):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/250900/It has a good story, good gameplay, and even though its barely on sale (it just came out last month, so its only 33% off) its def worth $10
7 days to die ($13):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/251570/See the post about it here:
https://tmmm.forumotion.com/t1470-7-days-to-dieThe short version is, its the best multiplayer survival game out so far, though its missing a lot of features since its still in early access, but still worth playing now
Metro 2033 redux is also good but didnt make this list because its just not cheap enough to me
Dec 21Skyrim Legendary Edition ($14):
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/28187/See the post about it here:
https://tmmm.forumotion.com/t923-oh-em-geeThe short version is that its a great open world RPG
The legendary edition includes all the DLC and is well worth $14
Portal 1 and 2 ($5):
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/7932/See the post about it here:
https://tmmm.forumotion.com/t1032-portal-2-reviewThe short version is its a fantastic first person puzzle game
Alien Isolation and Never Alone are also good, but arent on this list as they are barely on sale since they just came out, would wait for summer sale or next winter sale unless you really want those right now
Spore is also fun for a few hours but quickly becomes boring and, to me at least, has no re playability
I havent played this new version of age of mythology but it looks good, the original age of mythology was great and this doesnt seem to have any problems so it might be worth getting
Dec 22ndSaints Row Full Package ($14):
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/46504/Saints Row is an enjoyable open world game where you can cause mass mayhem
The 2nd game takes itself seriously, its story isnt bad, and fun, the city feels bigger as well, in some ways i like this more than 3
The 3rd game is more fun and light hearted but still some what based in reality and really enjoyable with a decent story
The 4th game is compete insanity, still fun but the story doesnt matter at this point
GTA Complete Pack ($10):
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/28988/Vice city is my favorite in this series, san andreas is the worst
I dont recommend playing this and Saints Row at the same time or back to back since they are pretty similar (unless you love that style of game)
GTA's story is generally better than Saint Row's but you cant cause as much mayhem or go as crazy in GTA
The Walking Dead Season 1 and 2 ($6.30 each):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/207610/http://store.steampowered.com/app/261030/See the post about it here:
https://tmmm.forumotion.com/t1486-the-walking-dead-gameThe short version is, season 1 is a master piece, a must buy for anyone that like adventure games and even if you dont should still be considered as its a great adventure game to start with
Season 2 is good too, though no where near as good as season 1
Chivalry is good but isnt on my list because its not my type of game, its worth checking out at $5 if its your kindve thing
Outlast got boring to me as its mostly just jump scares so i never finished it and cant put it on the list
Dec 23Just Cause Collection ($4):
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/49740/I havent played Just Cause 1, but the 2nd game is really fun, you can grapple around and deploy a parachute to kindve sortve fly (imagine if spider man had a hang glider, thats basically how the movement system works), i personally wasnt interested in the story so i never got that far with it but its an enjoyable game to just roam around in
Scribblenauts Unlimited ($5):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/218680/A puzzle game that allows you to solve its puzzles with almost no limits, you can create nearly anything you can think of at will to help you solve something
It sounds like that would make the game easy, and it sometimes does, but its a lot more fun if you come up with insane ways to solve something rather than doing the obvious thing
Bioshock Triple Pack ($10):
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/36223/See the post about it here:
https://tmmm.forumotion.com/t1379-bioshock-infiniteThe short version is its a great first person series with a good story
The 2nd game is pretty weak, but not bad
Burial at Sea is the only DLC that you need and unfortunately its $10 for the season pass(
http://store.steampowered.com/app/214933/ buying the DLC separately is a waste of money), so if you want everything its $20 (if you only want infinite + dlc its $15, so id say the extra $5 for bioshock 1 and 2 is worth it by buying the triple pack and the infinite season pass unless you already have 1 of these games
Garry's Mod ($3):
http://store.steampowered.com/app/4000/You can build some crazy stuff, like working flying machines, cars, or rube goldberg machines
You can add models to it as well, so you can put in models from other games, movies or TV shows
It also has a bunch of minigames like:
Trouble in Terrorist Town. where 10% of the players are traitors and the other 90% are innocent and the traitors have to kill all the innocents without being killed by the innocents, theres also a detective that everyone knows is on the innocent side
Murder, where 1 person has to kill everyone else without being killed
Hide and Seek, which is... hide and seek
Prop Hunt, where people hide as objects (props) on a map filled with a bunch of objects
Surf, which is like first person mazing without patrols and with physics
MelonBomber, which is exactly like classic bomber man
And some others too, its pretty fun
Payday 2 isnt on the list because its too similar to payday 1, but if youve never played payday then payday 2 is worth $8
Game of Thrones isnt on the list because theres only 1/6th of the game out right now, and it just recently came out so its not really on sale, i will play this when its completely out
Age of Wonder 3 isnt on the list because i havent played it though it looks good
Dec 24I will try to update this tomorrow, but i probably wont have time so dont expect it to be here
