Trailer:
Plot: In 2024 almost every teenager plays the online game The World. FMDs (Face Mounted Display) can now connect to your phone and you can play online even on the go. Technology has evolved to incorporate more connectivity via the internet, and even tests are now done on a touch-screen computer. However for 14 years old Sora this matters little. She comes from a strict home and has never played any computer game. That is until she reluctantly tried The World and learns the joys of adventuring in a virtual world with friends. But not all is well in The World: a malicious virus has been spreading around the net and will soon cause a new network crisis. Aura, the omnipotent goddess of The World has devised a plan to stop the virus, and although Sora might not know it yet that plan requires her cooperation. Thoughts: I was preparing to watch Log Horizon and when i went to watch ep 1 i saw this on a list near the top and was like "well if im going to watch VR related stuff i may as well start with something from .hack" I went into it 100% blind and was surprised when the animation was CG, it was hard for me to get used to at first, in fact it wasnt until they entered the game that i finally got used to the animation style, mainly because in game is where that style really shines, i kindve wish they did the real life scenes in normal animation and the in game scenes with the CG animation because the CG animation never really felt right to me in the real life scene, even after i was used to it The movie is stand alone and doesnt really follow the style of the rest of the .hack series, if i compare it to any of the other .hack series id say its not as good, but on its own its not bad, a bit cliched/generic but enjoyable
Plot spoiler:
I really didnt like relationship side plot where she mistook Tanaka for Tomohiko in game, it just felt thrown in there
