This episode was a finale for some of the plot points. Especially because the next episode will be primarily at the wall if not all of it, a la Blackwater, for the battle at Castle Black. I don't think we'll see the Botlons or Reek again this season. Regarding the Mountain, he's not dead, I think he just toppled over or passed out, being mortally wounded would do that too you. I think next episode or the finale.

a little annoyed there was a whole episode just for the wall... i know it was in the title, but i didn't expect it to be that exclusive. thought that maybe Stanis would show up at least.
Right before the credits rolled i thought to myself "what a troll episode if the credits roll right now. aaannddd then they did. John and sam were at least pretty cool, so there was that. And sir Alister made more sense with an object for his constant anger and vile, so that was nice to see.

I really liked this episode, at first i was annoyed cause i want to see tyrions plot line, so i didnt expect this to happen now, since its right in the middle of tyrions thing But yeah everything at the wall before this was set up for this, i just thought it would wait until tyrions plot was done to take the focus since i figured that much set up would require a whole episode and putting it either at the start of next season or as the season finale made more sense to me
As the episode went on i began to like it, although i dont think another episode focused on the wall and the area around the wall would be good, hopefully next episode goes back to switching between locations, or is entirely focused on kings landing
Jon was pretty badass Sam didnt really do much though, well thats not completely true, but everything he effected was an indirect consequence of what he did, like he told that kid to fight and the kid went on to kill Ygritte, he went up to the top of the wall to get jon to do stuff, i guess he did shoot that guy

omgosh, we got to hear his new found philosophy that he grew into and allowed him to move past being a cowered. And he experienced the tragic death of his friend in the heat of battle, but overcame all trauma.
Jon definitely was pretty cool this episode.
I woulda really liked this as the season premier or second episode in season 5.
It seemed weird to interject it like they did, maybe it'll make sense after the next 2 episodes.

I knew this was happening for a couple weeks, that episode 9 was dedicated to the battle at the Wall. They're keeping with the tradition of episode 9 being the big one. Season one was Ned's death, season two much like this episode spent it's entirety at the battle of Blackwater, three had the red wedding and four had this. This one episode was basically getting set up since season one. We know that the Wildlings are going to attack and it's been anticipated since.
It did a good job in reinvigorating interest in the North. At least from my perspective, I didn't really care for the characters there, apart for Jon. Samwell was annoying, Alister was a dick, and his other friends like Pyp and the Giant killer dude (forgot his name, I'm really tired) were just there. This episode made us think Alister was pretty awesome, especially with his speech, it was Samwell more likeable and it even made the death of the other two kinda touching. Yegrett's death was very well done.
I'm tired so I apologize for any grammatical mistakes. I'm kinda asleep while typing this.
O one more thing. That one long shot was awesome. Do you guys remember it? The crane shot that just panned through the entire battle in Castle Black it was such a long take and it just looked so good.
I'm really excited for the finale.

| I had written a long post about my opinions of last Sunday's episode, but my power cut out and I don't feel like retyping it. Anyways, overall it was a good episode, though I would have liked to see more giant(as in the actual giants) fights. - Quasi-book spoiler. Not really, don't want to step on any toes though.:
As for episode 9 being the biggest of the season, Sunday's episode will break that trend.
