Darkspore is like the creature phase of spore, but without the making friends portion (all npc's are your enemy) and much more linear
Its like a dungeon crawler rpg (without the rpg part) where the elements of spore are just in your character customization and equipment
The only thing that makes this game somewhat unique is that you can have 3 heroes per mission, and can switch between them at will (unless the one you want to switch to is dead)
This system is sort of like Trine, but in Trine you did it to be strategic and solving puzzles, in this game you do it to switch to another character before the character your using dies
The character customization is awesome, but the gameplay is pretty lacking
If you had this kind of customization in a game that had great gameplay it would be an amazing game
The story is almost incomprehensible
They use made up terms and places that they barely define or establish
There are just expositional motion slideshows with a robotic female voice (the bad kind) that narrates for 5 mins at a time in between missions
I would say this is because its a beta, but the release is like 2 weeks away, so i doubt these are just placeholders
Its not something i would play for a long time
