I would totally play on a server if one of you guys put on up, the server i am on now is laggy so it kinda sucks so let me know if you are going to put one up. Also does that minimap work on multiplayer? sorry if someone already asked that.

^That was probably a stupid question, but also where do i get modloader.

I think it will work on multiplayer, a link to modloader is in the instructions at the link for the minimap

I dont think i can run a server
I get lag on my own server for some reason and i cant figure out why

actually me and collin had that same problem
i got no lag, but he got tons
try rejoining a few times
its more complicated with more people, but for just you that should work

installing the textures that way seems like a huge hassle when theres a built in option inside the game to install textures

let me know if you figure out how to change day/night settings for multiplayer
i think you might have to edit one of more important files but im not sure

Its 2 clicks with that program, i thought texture sizes 64x64 and larger didnt work so you needed that to install them

I was getting lag on another server to, not as much, but still it was there
It was network lag, not fps lag, idk whats up with it

If your already running a server, open server.properties with notepad change online-mode=true to online-mode=false
That will let people who havent bought it (like me) able to join the server and shouldnt effect people that have bought it

the server can barely support 2-3 people at a time for now, so nothing exciting is gonna happen for a lil while
in the nearish future there's gonna be a new server tho
it was gonna be thisish week but apparently a routine security check found kiddie porn (no joke) on the server so it was confiscated and everything else was put on hold. i dont know when it'll happen but it shouldn't be too long.
im gonna make a post when stuff starts happening though

I downloaded the new launcher, and when i try to log in it downloads the new updates, but then the screen just goes black. Anyone else having this problem? Also my virus protection pops up saying it found a virus in some part of minecraft is that just me?

The lag on my server comes from all the animals and enemies, it runs fine without them
But thats the whole point of survival mode so not having them is stupid

I thought maybe if i ran the server on a different computer it would work better but my laptop wont host

So something is going on with my computer and minecraft and i don't know what. i know its my laptop because i tried my parents computer with the game and it worked. When i try to play through the website it just stops loading, and when i play through the launcher it says failed to connect, even though i can get on the website.. Please help..

My game gets stuck like that when i forget to delete the META_INF folder from minecraft.jar after putting mods in it
If you put mods in it then just delete that folder from minecraft.jar

Minecraft is at 1.3 now so 1.2 mods wont work anymore
If all else fails just delete minecraft.jar and it will re-dl it and should make it work

1.3 added beds, you can craft them with 3 wool across the middle row in the crafting table, and 3 wood across the bottom row
Different color wool doesnt change the color of the bed though

The server i play on is down for some reason (its supposed to be a 24/7 server, but i think its because the game is at 1.3_01 already and the server is running the wrong version, or maybe my version is to high, i was playing on it yesterday with 1.3, so idk whats up with it now)
Its a pretty nice server, it uses bukkit and has a bunch of plugins
The guy that runs it owes me for helping him fix the server, but he didnt give me admin (yet)
You have to be on the list to get in the server, so once i can get in contact with the guy that runs it again, if your interested, i can tell you the ip of the server and ask him to add you to the list

We can play there, at least until seren stops using his new server for storing his porn
(i wanted to make that joke like a week ago when seren posted about it but was able to resit doing it until now)

But you can only join if your on the whitelist
Tell me the name you use on minecraft servers and ill get you on the list
And its been having problems recently, ever since 1.3, its been down alot more

Also i was experimenting with redstone repeaters this morning in singleplayer
You can make an infinite loop with them
I made a christmas tree looking thing with lights that flash in a pattern
I was trying to figure out a way to escape from the loop so that its not infinite and works more like a while loop that takes a boolean condition or based on time with a bunch of repeaters connected to the last activated thing in the loop, but i wasnt having any luck with it

The IP of the server changed, now its: world.gamerservices.net

Your not on the whitelist yet, but the server isnt in whitelist mode anymore (well not all the time now), it was in that mode for maintenance
So now anyone should be able to join

Theres a plugin to stop people from griefing, but that means you probably wont be able to build anywhere, i have a town that you can build in, but its sortve locked to the size it is now, the area around it is all taken, ill try to see if i can make it bigger
But that means that most of the resources like coal, iron, redstone and diamonds are mined out

Theres already 2 other people that are actively building on it (technically theres 4, but 2 of them havent done anything)

I finished the first station of the minecart system, but i took all the minecarts when i logged off (since it takes 7 of them to run the station i didnt want any to go missing, im running low on iron)
I didnt test it yet either but it should work

It could use alot of improvement though, mainly with how the boosters work, there must be a better way to make a booster that takes input, that only needs 1 minecart to work, something with the way the track switches when powered

Each station needs 3 boosters, 1 to dispense a minecart to the person, 1 to send the minecart with the person on there way to the next station, and 1 to send the minecart back to storage after they get out
Currently 2 of those need to have 2 minecarts to work
So thats a minimum of 5 minecarts just for the boosters (the one we built uses 6 cause of that extra track)

If we build another station im going to try to make it so that we only need 3 for the boosters

oh funny
i actually made something like this

i had it in more of a subway form though, with a bunch of carts going around about 15 seconds apart from eachother
i ran into 2 problems.
minecarts act differently (more ideally) with you in them
and standard boosters eventually break

now the uphill booster is trickier with the latest patch

the first thing wasnt hard to fix, but it made me rely on a 3 cart 3x3 booster which always breaks after awhile.
maybe the server you use modded how carts work tho
