Rant Dota/HoN/LoL/Dota2

I'm sorry about this, you probably don't care about any of those games. I really just wanna give my opinion of a few things weather any of you read it or not.

Recently there has been a huge hype for DOTA2. So naturally people started taking sides for each games. Everyone claiming that one game is superior to the other. Most people probably haven't even played all the games and are just being victims of product fidelity. I wanted to talk a bit about each of these MOBA games. ( I have always called these games AOS, but for some reason people are calling them MOBAs so you know.... w/e)

DOTA:
Dota is a great game and in my opinion a testament to how epic warcraft 3 actually is. Of course all the creators of the game wanted money and use the fact that wc3 is old and has lesser graphics to justify selling out. (And seeing how minecraft is popular with its 8bit graphics i find this argument to be invalid). The game is still played on a large scale today. But most people have left to LoL or HoN and eventually Dota2.

League of Legends:
I didn't wanna play this game at first because i had heard bad things about it and my first test run of it was disappointing. When i came back to it, i liked it a lot. I'm happy the creators made it different from Dota. It doesn't use agi, int or str, there isn't runes, secondary shops and all the heroes are for the most part original. The best part of the game is the constant updating and new heroes every 2 weeks.
What i don't like with the game is that some heroes can be stronger than depending on how much you are willing to pay and for some reason you can't deny any units, heroes or towers. Overall it's a very good game.

Heroes of Newerth:
I won't lie i haven't played this game that much. But what i noted when i did was the graphics. I loved the graphics of this game. The ways the abilities looked the way the heroes looked. It seemed perfect to me. Unfortunately the copied so much from Dota that it seemed stupid to me to change games just for graphics.

Dota2:
When i saw the trailer i was excited as hell. The trailer was amazing. When the tournament started i had high expectations and i went to watch the live streams on their website. I think saying that i was disappointed is an understatement. The game graphics look like SHIT. They copied everything and i mean really EVERYTHING from dota. At least heroes of newerth had different kind of killing sprees and heroes that where to some extent different. But dota2 is just copy and past with shit graphics. Icefrog, the lead designer of Valve's Dota2 claimed that he wanted to exceed the limits of the wc3 editor by creating it as a stand alone game, and by that he means i wanted money so he decided to cash in. I think the only thing game has going for it is the name. People seem to want to rub their penis on the name and that's probably why they fought to have it, even when the former creators of Dota (who are now in league of legends) opposed the use of the name Dota. I have lost any respect i ever had for Valve because of this abomination.

You surpassed DOTA on some levels bacon, so i dont see how you can say it was epic
When i post my judging results youll know what i mean

Minecraft doesnt have 8bit graphics, in someways its more graphically advanced then wc3 and even some current games

As for LoL, you can unlock heroes without paying if you play long enough with the heroes they force you to play, so you dont have to pay to get them (at least thats what i can remember from the last time i looked)
So its not that bad, and it improved alot that needed to be improved from DOTA

HoN im not sure about, but i think you pretty much have to pay
They made the same kind of improvements as LoL did, even more so id say
HoN doesnt have anyone from any previous dota version working on it, so its a knockoff, so it pretty much just copied everything, they may have added some unique stuff by now though, i havent played since beta

I saw some gameplay of DOTA2 today and wasnt impressed, though it would need to do or have something amazing to impress me, but still, it didnt look any better then LoL or HoN
But of course it will get the hype its getting, it not only has the name, but its made by valve

I ment the runes. You can buidl yourself a good attack damage rune page, but it will only be good for attack damage. So if you wanna play another hero you need to buy some more. Of course the runes are free but it takes around 60 games to fill one up. And if you buy them you can get them alot faster.

HoN is free now, but apparantly the people who paid make smurfs to dominate the noobs, so you have a hard time getting into it.

Theres alot of MOBA games, but i wanted to talk about the ones i played and also the popular ones... I dont see how realm of the titans or any other random MOBA game is relevant because they aren't successful and will quickly fade into obscurity.

no you can get like silver coins by playing games to unlock champions
takes a while though

What I like about league that really makes a difference is that it is very easy to follow. The graphics make it so easy to follow on whats going on. I played HoN a couple of times, and I never knew what was going on because the spells would block my vision. The graphics were nice, but I'd take gameplay over graphics anyday.
