| Yeah, Idk what nomor did but when I went to run wc3 a bit ago and it called it a virus, so I clicked heal and then tried to run it again and it was uninstalled. So, I took the time out to reinstall wc3 and the same happened. Not sure what happened but this sucks..... | |

| Your virus scanner said wc3 was a virus when you went to play a map? What virus scanner do you use, its probably a false positive and your scanner is deleting files wc3 needs
The only way a map could be a virus is by using an arbitrary code execution exploit which used the old retrun bug But that was patched awhile ago (i think in version 1.22 or 1.21) and afaik theres no way to do it now

| I didnt say that was his problem, only telling him that it couldnt be a virus, and that his virus scanner was being retarded And theres no way to execute code like that anymore The original return bug was: - Code:
-
function C2I takes code c returns integer return c return 0 endfunction
function I2C takes integer i returns code return i return null endfunction They fixed the ability to do a double return like that in 1.23 (i think) Then after that you could do: - Code:
-
function Int takes integer i returns integer return i endfunction
function Code takes code c returns code return c endfunction
function C2I takes code c returns integer call Code(c) if false then return 0 endif endfunction
function I2C takes integer i returns code call Int(i) if false then return null endif endfunction
local integer n = Int(C2I(function DoNothing)) local code c = Code(C2I(n)) Since false would never occur the if statement would never be true and the return 0 would never happen Because of the way they fixed the old return bug, the last valid return would be used (which would be return c here), which would end up producing the same effect But they fixed that in 1.24c Theres still another return bug in 1.24c using the new hashtable stuff, but as far as i can tell it cant be used in a way to make a virus And when i say virus im not talking about something that is merely capable of crashing wc3 with an error Im talking about an actual virus, that can change files, permanently mess up your computer, steal passwords/account info/anything you type or do on your computer, or even allow someone to completely take over your computer

| It\'s not running a map, it\'s running a game. Wc3 uninstalls automatically when I reinstall it. I cant even have it on my computer without it uninstalling once more.
Edit - I use AVG, it didn\'t start doing this until we ran jass, and avg said jass was a virus, something happened then, and now its disrupting the path from wc3 to the virus checkup. I don\'t believe it is AVG that\'s the problem, I think it was a problem with Jass.

| write a post here: http://www.thehelper.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=23Everybody on that site uses newgen, so you can say you were running that. it may be a common error, or it may have nothing at all to do with newgen editor. they'll reply within like 1 hour. if you dont have an account, use mine: asdfpoin // poin | |

Jass is just a language, like C++ or HTML, and the tools to compile jass were already existent on your computer in warcraft. Guaranteed its not 'jass'. Best thing is to ask the helper. just post something fast

| Never mind, I believe that I fixed it myself. I guess having knowledge about this stuff helps me a little bit. If your using a virus program is going to check every file, since we used Jass, jass messed with the wc3 settings which messed up AVG. I just added to the list of exceptions and blam, fixed. | |
